The day Year 4 were evacuated to Bushey!

Today, we traveled back in time to experience what life was like in Britain during World War 2.  We experienced being in a 1940s school, being in a dig for victory garden, putting out a bomb and being in an Anderson shelter. We also had a ride on a genuine WW2 jeep and went in another air raid shelter. But the fun didn’t stop there, we also walked around a 1940s house and played with some toys that children growing up during the war, would have played with. We all said Lincolnsfield Children’s centre was the best trip we have ever been on.

  1. What an amazing, fun-packed day! The 1940’s living room brought back wonderful memories of my grandparents, albeit in the late 70’s/ early 80’s, when I was a VERY young boy! The tiled fireplace did make me smile.
